Everything you need to know about PDF Redact

What's the difference between real and visual redaction?

Real redaction permanently removes text from the PDF. The data is completely deleted. Visual redaction (what most tools do) just draws a black box over text, but the original text remains in the file and can be easily extracted. PDF Redact uses real redaction.

Is my document secure?

Yes. Your documents are processed securely and are never stored on our servers. All processing happens in a secure environment, and files are automatically deleted after processing.

What file formats are supported?

PDF files only. We focus on doing one thing well. Support for other formats may come in the future, but for now we're dedicated to being the best PDF redaction tool available.

Is there a file size limit?

Currently PDF Redact supports PDFs up to 50MB. This covers the vast majority of documents. If you have larger files, please contact us.

Can I redact multiple items at once?

Yes! You can select multiple text areas, use pattern detection to find all instances of a specific type of data (like phone numbers), or use our AI to identify and redact categories of information throughout your document.
