Welcome to PDF Redact. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PDF Redact website and services operated by PDF Redact ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PDF Redact, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.
2. Description of Service
PDF Redact provides a web-based tool for redacting sensitive information from PDF documents. Our service:
- Allows users to upload PDF files for redaction
- Provides tools to select and permanently remove text and content
- Generates redacted PDF files for download
- Does not store uploaded documents after processing
3. Beta Program
PDF Redact is currently in invite-only beta. By joining the beta program:
- You understand the service may contain bugs or errors
- Features may change without notice
- The service may be unavailable at times
- You agree to provide feedback to help improve the service
4. User Responsibilities
When using PDF Redact, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating an account
- Use the service only for lawful purposes
- Not upload malicious files or attempt to compromise our systems
- Not use the service to process documents you don't have rights to
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
5. Document Ownership
You retain all ownership rights to documents you upload to PDF Redact. We do not claim any ownership over your documents. You represent that you have the right to upload and process any documents you submit.
6. Privacy and Security
We take your privacy seriously:
- Documents are processed in memory and never stored on our servers
- We do not access, read, or analyze the content of your documents
- All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS

7. Pricing and Payment
PDF Redact offers the following pricing plans:
- Unlimited Plan: $19/month for unlimited PDF redactions
- Pay As You Go: $10 for 100 credits (1 credit per page)
Prices are subject to change. We will notify you of any price changes before they take effect. All payments are non-refundable except as required by law.
8. Intellectual Property
The PDF Redact service, including its design, features, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our service without permission.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
PDF REDACT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Redaction will be 100% effective in all cases
- The service will meet your specific requirements
You are responsible for verifying that redacted documents meet your needs before sharing or distributing them.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PDF REDACT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits or revenue
- Data breaches or security incidents
- Incomplete or failed redactions
- Any damages arising from use of our service
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDF Redact and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to PDF Redact at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of PDF Redact shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
